Kid Rock’s Tour Takes a Hit as MAGA-Backed Band Creed Vanishes from Lineup Amid Growing Controversy

Kid Rock’s highly publicized “Rock the Country” tour has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons lately. As the singer gears up to headline Turning Point USA’s Super Bowl LX All-American Halftime Show, he’s facing a wave of criticism—and a shrinking lineup. But here’s where it gets controversial: one of the MAGA movement’s favorite bands, Creed, has seemingly vanished from the tour roster without a trace. And this is the part most people miss: their disappearance comes after they were once championed by MAGA figures for the very same halftime slot Kid Rock now holds.
According to Newsweek, Creed has been “quietly removed” from the lineup, joining the ranks of other artists like Shinedown and Morgan Wade, who have more publicly distanced themselves from the tour. The band has yet to comment on their sudden absence, leaving fans and critics alike scratching their heads.
For many attendees, Creed’s departure is a significant letdown. Not long ago, MAGA personalities like Jack Posobiec were rallying for the band to take center stage at the TPUSA halftime show. “By every measure, Creed has earned the Super Bowl halftime gig,” Posobiec declared. “It is time for them to take us Higher. To a place with golden streets.” His enthusiasm was echoed by conservative podcaster Tim Pool, who joined Posobiec on The Charlie Kirk Show to criticize Bad Bunny’s NFL halftime performance. “We need Creed,” Posobiec insisted. “We need (Creed frontman) Scott Stapp flying down from the rafters.”
But Kid Rock’s tour troubles don’t end with Creed’s disappearance. Multiple performers have pulled out as the singer faces mounting backlash over his past statements and lyrics. TPUSA and the MAGA community have billed their Super Bowl LX show as a family-friendly, Christian alternative to the NFL’s Bad Bunny-headlined event. However, this narrative has been undermined by Rock’s controversial history—and the fact that recordings of his past remarks exist.
One such incident resurfaced recently: a 2001 appearance on Saturday Night Live where Rock made questionable comments about the Olsen Twins, who were just 14 or 15 at the time. “Why is every guy in America waiting on these chicks to turn 18?” he reportedly quipped. “If there’s grass on the field, play ball.”
This resurfaced clip follows another scandal involving Rock’s 2001 song “Cool, Daddy Cool,” featured in the Osmosis Jones soundtrack. The lyrics, particularly Verse 3, have sparked outrage: “Young ladies, young ladies, I like ‘em underage,” Rock sings. His late sidekick Joe-C adds, “But I say it’s mandatory.” The song gained renewed attention after Parker Molloy reshared a TPUSA post promoting the halftime show, sarcastically suggesting, “Maybe he’ll play this one!”
Rock’s response to the controversy? A meme on X featuring a Kobe Bryant quote: “Learn to love the hate. Embrace it. Enjoy it. You earned it. Haters are a good problem to have. Nobody hates the good ones. They hate the great ones.”
While the lineup for the TPUSA show—featuring Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett—has been widely mocked outside MAGA circles, the controversy surrounding Rock has taken things to a new level.
